Swatch: Catrice 240 Sold Out For Ever

This color is very famous for being a dupe of Chanel Jade.

The color itself is very pretty, but I think it doesn't match well with my skintone.

Sold Out For Ever is a mint green with a very subtle shimmer. The color is pretty but it doesn't work for me.

Swatch: Sinful Colors No.833 Show Me The Way

Show Me The Way is an acid green with subtle glitter.
The base is a bit watery so it's a bit hard to apply and after two coats there was still visible nail line.
I think this polish is better layered (see below).

Sinful Colors are €4.90 each.

Here is Show Me The Way layered over white creme, lime creme and black creme.

Turoail #039: Holly French

First Christmas nail art of the year.

*sorry for the bad lighting*

How to:
  1. Apply your base coat.
  2. Apply a sheer polish with a gold shimmer. If you don't have something similar you can use a nude/beige polish. AVOID pink.
  3. With a red polish paint your tip.
  4. With a gold polish and a thin brush draw a line below the red tip.
  5. I think it's already pretty like this so if you like simple manicure you can stop here.
  6. With a dark green acrilic paint draw the leaves of the holly. If you don't have acrilic paint you can use green nail polish.
  7. Put a drop of top coat between the leaves and apply two or three red sequins to make the berries of the holly. If you don't have sequins you can use red rhinestones or a dot of red polish.
  8. This is optional but you can add some green glitter on the leaves. Apply your top caot and you're done!

NOTD: Green Spring

After seeing the green spring mani at LACQUERIZED I wanted to try it too!
This is my result!
I used KIKO no.296 as a base and then I applied a coat of KIKO no.163, a fine glitter with turquoise shimmer and at last KIKO no.170, with iridiscent fish scale glitter that flashes between green and purple.

Swatch: China Glaze EMERALD SPARKLE

(above camera flash - below natural light)

I don't think Emerald Sparkle needs any kind of presentation.
It's one of the most famous CG polishes.
It's extremely beautiful green glitter in a black base. AWESOME!

Since I don't think the first two pictures show the full beauty of this polish here is another one take under my kitchen lamp. I know it's a weird place for pictures but it shows the the glitter very well. Since I like how the picture turn out maybe I will use this lamp in the future too.

Swatch: OPI No.H45 JADE IS THE NEW BLACK

(above camera flsh - below natural light)

This is from the Hong Kong Collection. It became pretty famous and I really liked it on the swatches I saw online.
In real life I have to admit that it didn't impress me that much. It's definitely a pretty green creme but it didn't catch my eyes that much. Maybe if I wear it for a couple of days I will get to love it more.

Swatch: Deborah Sense TECH No. 04

(above camera flash - below natural light)

This is one of the new matte polish from Deborah.
I'm a bit disappointed with this polish.
It takes more time to dries (about 2 or 3 minutes) so is more easy to apply compared to OPI Matte and Suede but the final result is very dull.
It's a shame because I really liked the color.

Swatch: KIKO No. 297

(above indoor light - below natural light)

This is probably the color I was most disappointed with.
It was cute in the bottle but on the nails was kind of boring. Also it was a little sheer and after two coats there was still VNL, usually KIKO polish are two coaters.
I will try it with some glitter over it.

Swatch: KIKO No. 296

(above camera flash - below natural light)

I really like this polish, mostly because I don't own a lot of green polish and this is definitely I beautiful green. I was really into green polish in these days so this was the first one that I wore.
The whole week has been very rainy so I didn't had the chance to swatch more polishes, I was lucky that a ray of sun come out and I could take this pictures.
I have a lot of polishes that are waiting to be swatched so let's hope the upcoming week is very sunny!

Tutorial #032: Apple is A

A new tutorial!! It's a very "spring-ish" tutorial and since tomorrow it's the first day of spring it's very appropriate!!
I like it very very much and I think it's my best tutorial so far!!

What you need: a dotting tool, a thin brush.

Colors:

  • Base Coat: KIKO White strong&shiny No.05
  • Light Green: KIKO No.268
  • Red: MAYBELLINE FOREVER STRONG No.535 RUNWAY RED
  • Dark Green: DEBORAH 7 Days Long No.793
  • Dark Red: KIKO No.116
  • White: KIKO No.203
  • Top Coat: KIKO No.03
How to:
  1. Apply your base coat.
  2. Apply a light green polish. Any light green will do, just don't choose a too bright/bold color or else the apples will not stand out!
  3. With a dotting tool and some red polish draw the apple. Star with two bigger dots for the upper part and two small ones for the lower part and then blend them together with very small movements. It's not as hard as it sounds!
  4. For a more realistic result add a leaf with the help of the brush. Add also a shadow on a side of the apple with a dark red polish and a white dot for the reflex. Since there are a lot of layers and polish wait a few minutes (10/15 min) before apply your top coat or it will smudge.
