Yves Saint Laurent Spring 2011:Paris Fashion Week

Not sure if I really had the time for it, but I found myself reading some extensive analysis via commentaries/forum opinions about Yves Saint Laurent's Spring collection. Some said the collection wasn't in line with designer Stefano Pilati's aesthetic, others felt a push and pull between art and intellect, and as my eyes slowly closed because my brain hurt, I decided that I pretty much want every single piece in this gorgeous collection!

Marc Jacobs Spring 2011:New York Fashion Week

A second after Marc Jacobs' Spring 2011 showing ended last night amid a flurry of frizzy-haired and voluminously-clad models circa 1970's, the Twitter universe was abuzz with a million one liners referencing MJ and the popular disco era such as 'That '70's show, A touch of the Rive Gauche, Paging Jodie Foster in 'Taxi Driver'...
The beauty of the collection was very much a burned golden-hued visionary ode to Yves Saint Laurent, Missoni, even Sonia Rykiel, with gorgeous frizzy manes (look at all those redheads!!!) topping off flowy and gauzy drop-waisted dresses, massive flower corsages, plumed neck wear, and delicate patterned knits. I don't love the entire collection, though, I'm still actually making up my mind about that. The colorful satin interlude in the lineup was my least favorite, but the colors overall reminded me of a warm Arizona dessert...and that's always a good thing. Some of my favorite looks:
