Late Post

Helloooooo everyone! Sorry for not posting in a while, I've been busy a lot but that doesn't mean I've neglected my nails! :P This is from the vault, you might be able to know that it's been a while - Zoya 3 Free Nail Polishes because they reached 20,000 Facebook followers. So here are my swatches, which weren't that great, in my opinion since I'm looking back at these. :P

First one is Astra, it's mostly a clear base with red/fuchsia packed glitter and there's barely any clear spaces. The swatch is 2 coats and 1 layer of top coat, pretty nice and shiny :)

The second, which is my favorite, Crystal. I've been wanting this for a long time after seeing it on blogs *drool* and I jumped on this chance to get it :) It's a metallic blue with gold flecks and silver glitter packed in. VERY BEAUTIFUL. I believe the swatch is 2 or 3 coats and 1 layer of top coat, which looks the same to me :P

The last one is Nova, my least favorite of the 3 :\ but it's a red-purple but more purple tone jelly base with silver glitters packed in. The swatch is 2 coats and 1 layer of top coat.

hope you all enjoyed & happy polishing! :)

3 new to me Zoyas...

I just had to show you all the 3 new Zoya polishes I aquired recently, thanks to their 3 free promo!! These are all just 2 coats and apply great, just like their other polishes. When I ordered these, I actually thought Crystal would me my fave, but upon my swatching, Valerie was.

Evolution of a Mani.....

I was looking through my stash in search of, god knows what, and saw Ivanka sitting there. I might have only used this once, when I first got it, but realized I needed to use it again. As we all know, it is very hard for me to ever leave a mani alone, the only time I really ever have a plain mani on is if 1 - I'm swatching or 2 - I'm in a hurry.

So I did 2 coats of Ivanka

Then did the houndstooth Konad design, using Sinful's Black on Black

And that couldn't be all, I was bored within minutes, lol, so I decided to do diagonal black tips as well, using Scotch tape, like always, and Sinful's black.

What do you guys think? Did I go to far? lol

Inspired

After doing my nails with Orly Country Club Khaki, the new addition to my collection, I was thinking about a design to go with it. I tried leopard but I've already done that and I couldn't replicate it with a regular brush; the last time I tried it that came out nice, I used a thin nail art brush. My friend happened to update her nail album on Facebook and I was inspired to create my own version of it. Here's her version:

And here's my version:

I didn't add stars though because my nails are kind of rounded so the ends of the stars would poke out and scratch me :(

TYxINFINITY♥

Laura, you are amazingly awesome. Seriously! First Hidden Treasure and now 2 other surprises in the package! I'm really grateful for your gift and I will return the kindness! :) When I opened the box, I was really confused because the packing was big until I opened it. You threw and blew me away!~ ♥ Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart.

And to share my happiness, I have swatches and pictures.

Essie Huckle Buckle
Very sheer dusty grape shimmer. The swatch is 3 coats and no top coat. As you can see it's really sheer, so maybe 4 coats would do the trick, or maybe using black as a base? Nonetheless, it's very unique and I haven't seen anything like this. I'll probably be back with more pictures, perhaps next week?

(1) indoors (2) indoors with sunlight (3) flash (4) indoors with Hidden Treasure

Zoya Kotori
I've done a swatch and review of this but still nonetheless a very beautiful nail polish. It's best described as a "dense bright blue shimmer superimposed over a sheer black base," (official Zoya website) however, it's very sheer. In my previous swatch, I believe I used 3 coats and no top coat and it was good but maybe it could've looked better with another coat. I'll probably come back with a re-swatch of this.

and finally Sally Hansen's Hidden Treasure!
Irregularly shaped flakies with a sheer pearlish clear base. Swatch is 2 coats of Zoya Raven, 1 coat of Sally Hansen Hidden Treasure and 1 layer top coat. Excellent for layering, especially with a black base, it reminds me of China Glaze's limited edition Halloween polish Fortune Teller. I don't own Fortune Teller but Hidden Treasure + black base certainly comes close. The difference I believe is that Fortune Teller has orange glitters and Hidden Treasure has flakies that shine in multiple colors (orange, green, etc). I LOVELOVELOVELOVE Hidden Treasure and I'm so happy that I finally have it (all thanks to Laura again, I could never thank you enough!)

(1) outdoors in sunlight (2) outdoors in shade
(3) indoors with flash

An extra swatch I have for today is OPI's Let Them Eat Rice Cakes.
It's from their 2005 Japanese Collection. It's fairly old, so it doesn't have the pro-wide brush, but that's okay. It is a pale pink creme with lavender undertones. It comes off streaky but after you put top coat you don't notice it. I used only 2 coats and 1 coat of top coat and it looked fine, but if you notice the unevenness, you could go for a third coat. It might be hard to find now, but nonetheless a very nice conservative color but you could do a lot with this one. :)

hope you enjoyed,

:\

So I haven't been posting because I've been slacking and not really in the mood to post. :\ Yet I don't know why I don't want to... I just didn't feel like it. But I feel like I'm way behind but not really. Maybe it's because I've been so interested in watching tv shows?

I've watched:
- 1st season of Leverage (first cd of the 2nd season came in today from netflix!)
- 5 seasons of Weeds (veryyyy interesting!)
- started the first season of Heroes (SOO interesting and addicting to watch<3!)

Anyways, enough about that. From the last post up until today, I will post up pictures of the nails I did.

1. Indian Nails → China Glaze Strawberry Fields (2 coats) & LA Colors Nail Art Gold Glitter
*Indian because the colors reminded my cousin, hehe :P

2. Glittery Nails → Zoya Raven (2 coats) & China Glaze Nova

3. Random → OPI Jade is the New Black (2 coats) & OPI Alpine Snow

Anyways, I hope you enjoy and hopefully my nail polish mood comes back~

Accomplished!

Well, this was sooner than I thought. I didn't plan to post a second time but I did!

So, my brother was downloading and is still downloading a game on his computer. The point in the previous statement was to say the source of my boredom in not being able to do anything on my laptop, such as watch movies or tv shows online. With that being said, I decided to swatch the rest of the Zoyas that I haven't swatched.

But I'm glad these are the last few bottles that may interest you in deciding what colors you might want to exchange for - if you've decided to do the Zoya Exchange (which ends June 30th by the way). I might even consider doing the exchange again for more bottles! :D

Zoya Midori
lime green and gold yellow shimmer. the swatch is two coats and no top coat. omg i'm absolutely in love with Midori! It's so amazing the color <3.

Zoya Pippa
bright yellow creme. the swatch is two coats and one coat of seche. bright normal yellow. i love it but it comes out uneven when applied :x also looks a little funny on my skintone - i don't think yellow cremes work on me, lmao. nonetheless i love the color and maybe it would work if i had pale skin LOL. T_T maybe pastel yellow will look nice :x i wish i could get banana bandana!! :'( i wonder how that would look on me.

Zoya Raven
black creme. the swatch is two coats and one coat of seche. amazing easy to apply black that i have. the only other black i've used was sinful colors black on black. for the formula comparison, raven was by far easier to apply and it didn't make the skin around my nails black whenever i applied too much on the edges. love the black! <3.

Zoya Shivon
red purple with golden orange. the swatch is two coats and no top coat. ohmygod this is unbelievably beautiful – the golden orange undertones are sooo hard to capture. my camera and my phone can’t capture it’s beauty *cries* I thought Shivon was pretty nice but I think it’s so much more beautiful now, especially irl. :’( I’m sad I can’t share the exact swatch with you but I’d definitely recommend Shivon if you’re looking for something unique. this is definitely one of my favorites in the bunch. simply took my breath away<3.

Zoya Suvi
dark green with green shimmer. the swatch is three coats and no top coat. three coats to reach bottle color but still beautiful <3.

Zoya Veruschka
close to suvi, dark green with silver green shimmer but it’s matte. the swatch is two coats without top coat & with top coat (second set). dries pretty quick for a matte about 15~30 seconds. very close to suvi but a little different in terms of the shimmer but still beautiful. looks great without top coat and with top coat <3.

Zoya Zara
light purple with strong golden duochrome shimmer. the swatch is three coats without top coat – formula is a bit sheer. the golden duochrome doesn’t show as much in my pictures because my camera isn’t capable of caputuring most of it. it is a beauty irl. definitely recommend if you’re looking for light purple that’s unique for those who are unsure about the Zoya exchange.

I’m finally done with all my Zoya swatches! I feel so accomplished XD! Overall, I’m OVERLY satisfied with my exchanges and would definitely exchange for more – if I only had old polishes lying around, lol! Anyways, I’ll be thinking of more nail ideas to come up with since school is almost over (one more day and then finals).

see you soon,
<3katherine
