Streetstyle Saturday

It is a new Saturday, which means a bunch of streetstyle photos. I love waking up early on Saturday mornings, putting on my boyfriend's denim shirt, making a large, hot cup of coffee and start searching the web for inspiring streetstyle photos. A great way to start the day.

As you can see in these photos, I love a lot of maxi skirts and maxi dresses, and perfectly tailored coats, preferably together. The long silhouette it creates is gorgeous. Also, I am very into all of the black, chunky boots and all the different shades of grey. AND, I desperately want Bruna Tenorio's yellow velvet skirt!

Which is your favourite? I really like them all, but my favourite has to be outfit number 2; Elin Kling is the best!

Elin Kling for H&M

Fashion blogger and stylist is the next in line who has designed pieces for H&M. I remember I heard some rumours about this some months back, and I thought how great it would be if it was actually true. And so it is! The line consists of 11 pieces (9 fashion pieces and 2 accessories) and will be in Swedish H&M stores the 3rd of February. Lucky Swedes!

Elin herself has stated that "The collection is minimalistic and raw, but with bohemian elements, something that reflects my personal style well." H&M describes it as "a strong and clear collection, where silhouette and materials are more important than decoration. The details are well considered and discrete, such as the un-even hem on the washed leather jacket, the hidden chain at the neckline on one of the dresses, and the raw edge on the wide pants. The balance between the hard, tough and sculptural, and the soft, draped and feminine suits both H&M and Elin perfectly."

What do you think about this collaboration?

AW Boots

Lately, the Kori Off The Chains boots by Alexander Wang have been spinning around in my mind. I can't let go of my obsession for them, and the thought of how perfect they would be in my autumn/winter wardrobe makes me slightly crazy. My exam period is quickly emerging, and I am sure it is for some of you too (sorry to remind you!). I am a firm believer in rewards during this hectic and stressful period, so maybe I should be good to myself this year and treat myself to these as motivation?

Leather On Leather

I've never really cared for outfits consisting of too much leather. Don't get me wrong; I adore leather jackets, leather trousers, leather skirts and shorts etc., but wearing them together just reminds of try hard biker babes. But when it comes to fashion, there are always certain people who manage to make me change my mind, and Christine Centenera, fashion editor for Haper's Bazaar Australia, is one of those people.

I love how she wears different coloured leather pieces together. The beige and the black creates a chic, but still very exciting combination. However, I am not too keen on the shoes yet. I would much rather prefer to see this outfit together with some classic sky-high black heels.

Pattern + Colour

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

This outfit has inspired me to pair my purple heels with a black and white patterned blazer and trousers. I love how the colour of the shoes draw such an intense focus to them, but still it's impossible to tear your eyes away from the graphic print.

//The Answers//

I am very sorry that it has taken me ages to reply to your answers! Finally, here they are:

//What kind of job do you have? Or do you still study?//
I am still a student. Studying English and literature.

//What do you consider your biggest flaw?//
I am a perfectionist and it drives me crazy at times. Many people say that this is a "good" flaw, but there's nothing good about it when it makes me stress my brains out.

//Do you prefer ketchup or mayo?//
I am definitely more of a ketchup girl (though if mustard had been an option I would have chosen that without blinking!)

//How has your blog become so popular all over the world?//
I don't think my blog is popular all over the world, but I feel very flattered that you think so! Hopefully I'm doing something right...

//What is your favourite piece of clothing?//
It has to be a gorgeous 70s inspired, short, floaty dress with 3/4 sleeves that I bought in France this summer. Or a chunky black cardigan with gold and silver stud detailing on the shoulders.

//What is your favourite trend this fall?//
This fall has a great deal of excellent trends to choose from so I find it hard to choose only one, but since I have to I'll say sequins. I love how sequins have been used in the different fall collections! But anyone who's been reading my blog for some time know that I have quite the obsession with sequins.

//Will you post a picture of yourself?//
Not yet. Though I am playing around with the idea of doing outfit posts here on the blog. Have to wait and see though.

//How would you describe your style?//
I am very into the idea of creating a closet consisting of good basics, and then adding some unique pieces to spice up outfits. My friend told me recently that she thought I looked like a glamour hippie with an edge. And that's probably a good description of my style. I like a lot of hippie and bohemian inspired clothes (think Sienna when she was with Jude), and I like edgy simplicity (think Dree Hemingway, Ashley Olsen, Erin Wasson). Throw in some glamour from time to time (think Olivia Palermo) and somewhere in between it all, you'll find me.

//What are your favourite designers?//
Ahh, I have so many! Balmain, Stella McCartney, Louis Vuitton, Versace, Gucci, ChloƩ, Alexander Wang. I think I have to stop there because if I don't the list will just go on and on...

//Where do you like to shop?//
I like the highstreet shops because so many of them have improved their lines these last few years. But since I like owning unique things, I often pop by my favourite vintage shops in hope of finding some great treasures. Ebay is a great place to shop too.

//Where do you find inspiration for posts?//
The internet is full of lovely fashion spots, and roaming around these inspire me when I do my posts.

//Do you consider yourself more of a girly-girl or a tomboy?//
A girly-girl. I love dressing up, putting on make-up and wearing accessories. Though, I think I have a little tomboy in me too, because most of my friends are boys. And some days it just feels better to wear some loose jeans, a simple white t-shirt and a baggy hat.

//What's your fave blogger, and why?//
This is hard because I am so inspired by so many bloggers, but I think I have to say Elin Kling who has the blog Style by Kling. The reason I choose her is because I have been reading her blog for years, and all that time she has never stopped inspiring me. I admire her career, her style and I admire her very much as a person.

//What's your favourite magazine?//
Vouge Paris. No doubt about that.

//What's your favourite website?//
The Fashion Spot. It's got everything when it comes to style and fashion.

//What do you do in your spare time?//
I listen to a lot of music, I go treasure hunting for vintage pieces and I'm always searching for special pieces for my flat, I do a little bit of photography, I like going to the theatre, walks are refreshing (especially during crisp mornings), I love sitting hours and hours drinking coffee with friends and family, when I have enough time I cook and bake, I go to concerts, I read books and magazines and I'm thinking of doing some assisting for a stylist. When I have enough spare time, the one thing that I love the most is to travel. Nothing beats it. Discovering new places in this world is magical.

//How old are you?//
20.

//How long have you been blogging?//
I began blogging about 3 years ago. 09.09.06 to be exact.

//What motivates you for every single post?//
I love the whole world of fashion and style. It never stops to amaze and inspire me. It's like a healthy, young heart that never stops beating. This freshness is what motivates me for every single post, and the fact that I know that even how much I search, there are always new and incredible things to discover.

//Can you cook?//
I actually love to cook, though I rarely have time to do it properly. But when I have the time, I try to challenge myself. Sometimes it turns out fine, other times it doesn't haha.

//What's your favourite food?//
I have to go with thai food. It's so delicious! And Indian food. There's not much that can beat a good curry!

//What's your favourite thing about having a blog?//
It's a place where I can store all of my inspiration in one place. I also love that you are able to connect with so many great people by having a blog. Throughout these years of blogging I have met some truly fantastic people, and that is all thanks to the blogosphere.

//Do you tell real life people about your blog?//
No, I don't. I don't know why though haha. When I started blogging not many people that I knew were familiar with blogs and not many of my friends had one. So, I just didn't find the need to tell anyone about it. It's like my private space, though it's on the internet - the least private space of all haha.

//How much do you work inspiration from the photos you post into your personal style?//
I've found that keeping a blog where you post images that inspire really makes you much more aware about what you like and what you don't like.

//If you could raid any celebs wardrobe (dead or alive) who's would it be?//
Rachel Zoe because she has the most amazing vintage collection. Ohhh, can I say Carrie Bradshaw?? I know she's fictional, but her wardrobe is an absolute dream.

//Leather Shorts//

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

I am all for leather shorts. Miroslava (above) wears them. Karla wears them. Elin wears them. And they all do it so well.

What do you think about leather shorts?
Do you know any other bloggers/celebrities that have worn them in an inspiring way?
