Sally Hansen Earthen Opal

Hi everyone! Today I am bringing you the other polish that I won in the Wizards of Bling giveaway that I won a few months ago (back in March I think?). This one is called Earthen Opal, it is a gorgeous rusty red color with a gold shimmer running through it. Like the other polish, it took forever to dry; but this polish was opaque after 2-3 coats. It looks amazing paired with golds. Do you like it too?

Sally Hansen Rose Gold Opal

Hi everyone! I got this polish a long time ago in a giveaway that I won from The Wizards of Bling. One of the two polishes that I recived was this one, it is a beautiful light baby pink with a gold shimmer running through it. It unfortunelty is sheer and it take forever to dry, but a coat of white and some patience can fix that. It is a really beautiful color that I will probably use for french manicures mostly, especially because it is so sheer. Do any of you own any polishes from the Sally Hansen Opal lines?

Nail Art: Grass in the Shade

Hi everyone! It's a simple nail art that I did, and I love how it turned out! I am thinking of doing variations on the design if you all like it. All I used was Sally Hansen Opulent Cloud and Art Deco Black. I just tried to make as straight of lines as I possibly could, it looks almost oriental to me. What do you all think, do you like it half as much as I do?

KOTD: Fiery Fabric

Hey everyone! Today I am bringing you a simple Konad from the s6 plate. I used Sally Hansen Earthen Opal as the base color and China Glaze Twenty-Four K as the stamping color. I love how the colors go together, but maybe this wasn't the best image to use, I accidently got one backwards if you look closely. Do you like these colors together? What do you think?

NOTD: Extreme Pink French

Hey everyone! Today I wanted to share a quick mani that I did last week, which I think turned out kind of cool. I love the soft pink frosty base with the creme hot pink on the tips. I used Sally Hansen Rose Gold Opal as the base color and Art Deco Intense Pink for the tips. I love the bright tips for summer, neons just make me feel happy and sunny. Do you like it or do you think that I should have used a different color as the base?

NOTD: Sparkling Clouds

Hi everybody! Today I am bringing you just a simple combination, this is Sally Hansen Opulent Cloud under a layer of China Glaze Fairy Dust, and I really like how it looks. Duochrome + Glitter = Win! I love it! I got a lot of compliments on this combination. Do you like how it looks too?

Sally Hansen Instant Cuticle Remover

Hi everyone! I have had this stuff forever, but I have yet to review it for you all! This is the Sally Hansen Instant Cuticle Remover, and I love it! I have a terrible habit of biting my cuticles, so they look dry and ragged a lot. This helps a lot with that, essentially you put it on your cuticles and the skin around your nails, leave it for 15-20 seconds, and then use a manicure stick to scrape away the gunk. I know it sounds gross but it works very well. It doesn't hurt or burn or anything and it is quick and simple to use. If you are like me and have trouble keeping your cuticles in good shape, I would give this a try! It is available at most drugstores that carry Sally Hansen.

Sally Hansen Three D

Hello everyone! Who else is getting pumped for spring, because I know I am! In light of this excitedness, I am bringing you a bright color, Sally Hansen HD polish in Three D. I got this polish from a swap with fellow blogger and friend kelliegonzo, who writes Also Known As, thus the swatch when my nails were shorter!

This color is a bright shimmery orangey coral. It is a pretty sheer color though, this is three coats and you can still easily see my nail lines. I may need to put a white base under it to eliminate that. It is a little on the watery side, but it does apply pretty well. I quite like this polish and I may check out more from this line. Have you tried any polishes from this line?

Sally Hansen Opulent Cloud

Hello everyone! As some of you may know, I have been lemming this polish for awhile, but I was having a hard time finding it. I had checked several drugstores, only to see all three of the other colors that were released with this, but never Opulent Cloud. Then my lovely boyfriend developed a terrible cough, so we went to the Walgreens near his house to get him some cough syrup and cough drops, when there it was. Out next to the door of the store, one bottle of Opulent Cloud. (Angels singing!) Needless to say I snatched that puppy up! And now here it is in all of its purple/green/grey duochromey splendor! :Q........

It applied alright, it wasn't anything special in terms of formula. It was a little runny and took me three coats to get it opaque. If you aren't patient with this polish (like me) you will get some grabbing, balding, and bubbles, so take your time with this one! The color is stunning though, and totally worth waiting for in my opinion.

Now, did you pick up this color? If you did, did you like it, or did it not live up to the hype for you?

And of course for those of us in the US, tomorrow is the Superbowl! Geaux Saints! I didn't do a celebratory manicure, please forgive me. Are you going to watch? Who are you cheering for?

Awesome Fun Good Times With KellieGonzo!

Hello everyone! On Saturday I met up with KellieGonzo from Also Known As and Mickelle (who will be starting her own blog soon) and we went polish shopping! It was so much fun! No one I know outside of blogging are into nail polish, so it was really nice to hang out with someone who is as obsessed as I am! We went to a lot of stores; Ulta (where we met up), Nordstrom Rack, Claire's, Icing, Trade Secret, some other store that looked exactly like Trade Secret, Dillards, and Forever 21. First we'll do the goodies and then the fun pictures. Hold on, this is going to be a long post!

Firstly, Kellie got me a prezzy, which was SO sweet of her! I feel really bad because I didn't bring her a present, but she is totally getting a big one next time. Thanks again so much Kellie!!!

What's in the bag with the cute poodle on it?

Nu Skin Stuff! I cannot wait to try this stuff out! I got an Epoch Baobab Body Butter, Nu Skin Liquid Body Bar, Nu Skin Liquid Body Lufra, Nu Skin Tru Face Revealing Gel, a Travel Bottle for hand lotion, and a very cute zebra bag to put it all in! Thank you so much Kellie!

Next is my nail polish haul from Ulta, I picked up Parlez-Vous OPI?, Dulce de Leche, and I got Ginger Bells on clearance!

Now as some of you may know, I am an Escada Summer Fragrance junkie. I looked for the new one, Marine Groove, at Ulta but they didn't have it yet :( Luckily two doors down at Nordstrom Rack they had Ocean Lounge for cheap, I only buy Escada perfume there lol. It smells SO good!!! Not that I needed more Escada perfume....

*Shifty Eyes* Anyways, lastly I bought two cocktail rings, the top one is from Forever 21 and the bottom one is from Icing.

Kellie and I also had a swap (hooray for no shipping costs!) and here is what I recieved:

I got Tip Toe in Gold Rush, Zoya Luna, Zoya Lily, CHI Hot Ring Illusion Around Saturn, and Sally Hansen HD in Three D. Aren't they purty? Now for the fun pictures!

Mickelle looking at earrings at Icing!

Yes, that is a hand muff on a chain. Isn't it hot? (sorry about the scary bangs, my hair did not want to behave! I look really strange in this picture lol!)

As Mickelle said; I would totally switch teams for that.

Kellie and I at Icing!

Kellie and I outside before I head home!

Me, Kellie, and Mickelle at the end of the day!

It was such a blast! I hope that we can do it again soon! :) Be sure to check out Kellie's post!!!! Her haul was bomb!

My Konad Haul and More!

Yes, I finally gave in and went to OC Nail Art and bought myself some plates and the stamper and scraper! I got the scraper/stamper set, and the plates M20, M57, and M60. OC Nail Art is a great place to get your Konad, I got my package within about 3 days well packed and pristine!

Konad is a lot harder to use than I thought! I had a lot of trouble with it at first but I am much better at it now. I don't own any actual Konad polishes, but off of Sasse 'nad Stamping Stampede's list I own several polishes that can be used and they work great!

I have hauled even more to boot! My wallet is sitting in my purse crying. Thankfully this haul didn't cost too much! I got 2 Art Deco Polishes in Silver and Blue Glitter. I also got China Glaze Fairy Dust and Ruby Pumps (Lubu Heels is next on the list!) and OPI Suede Suzi Skis in the Pyrenees. I also went to Rite-Aid and got a Profile 4-sided buffer, Sally Hansen Instant Cuticle Remover, a cuticle trimmer, and some orange sticks.

DIY Satin Finish!

Ok, so last night I was doing a french mani because I felt like it; I haven't done one in awhile. Now I have places to go and things to do, so I was blowing on my nails in a futile attempt to get it to dry faster, and I looked down and my nails were not very shiny! How cool is that? So I used a different top coat on my other hand and it worked too!

Now on the hand pictured I used my Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Strengthening Top Coat. It is a thicker top coat. On the other hand I used my OPI Top Coat, and with this one it did not work as well as the Sally Hansen. I think that the key to this is the thickness of the top coat, so pile the top coat on!

Now what I did was blow warm air onto my nails while moving them back and forth, and it fogs up the top coat. The fog stays in the top coat when it dries; thus it imitates a satin finish. It is not matte in my as some light still reflects and it doesn't look chalky. So I am calling the finish satin. Now this doesn't last forever; it started to fade after a few hours. But, I found that blowing on the hand with the Sally Hansen refreshed it; such was not the case with the OPI.

Sooo....are you going to try this? If you do, please let me know how it goes! Tell me what top coat you used, and if it even worked for you. I would love to know! Oh, here is the picture with the mani glossy so that you can see the difference. I used OPI You Don't Know Jacques as the nail color and OPI Bogota Blackberry as the tip color.

Sally Hansen "Hard as Nails" Strengthening Topcoat

This is a review for a topcoat that I have been using for awhile now called Sally Hansen Hard As Nail Strengthening Topcoat. It comes in a 13.3 ml bottle and I picked it up on sale for about $5. I really like this topcoat; it leaves my nails ridiculously shiny. I don't think that it really strengthens that much, but it does pretty weel for a topcoat. The one problem that I have with this is that it makes my nail polish peel. Like in big nasty chunks. It also doesn't resist chipping as well as I would like, but I love how shiny it makes my nails! The brush is really great too, it is a lot like the OPI Pro-Wide brush; it is a flat stacked brush. All in all a decent cheap topcoat, although I don't think that I will repurchase it. I may have found better, but you will have to wait a few days for that review! ;)
