Pink Flowers & Pearls

Well last night, I decided to do a subtle male mani, lol. What I mean, is a mani that won't stand out to much to men, since I have a big dealer meeting this morning, I didn't want to do anything too crazy but still fun.

For this I used, a base of Essie Merino Cool, Pure Ice Busted over top & then did the stamping with Pure Ice Outrageous.

This was my final mani :)

I started with 1 coat of Merino Cool
added 1 coat of Busted

Then stamped with Outrageous

and then, because they were sitting next me, I added some ivory pearls in the center of the flowers, on my ring fingers.

Polkie Dots with a Kick!

Yep, I said 'Polkie', lol. Now as you all know, I love polka dots, purple, scotch tape and matte manis, so why not do a mani, that has it all!!!! Here is the mani I did. I used Ulta Cocktails Anyone?, Sally Hansen Slick Slate and Essie Matte About You. I know I'm holding China Glaze's Matte Magic in the last pics, but when I was taking these pictures, that was on the end table, and to be honest, my butt was too lazy to get back up and grab the Essie, lol. Hey....I was tired and comfy, lol.

I started with 2 coats of Cocktails Anyone?

Then I did the polka dots with Sally Hansen Slick Slate and a Bundle Monster Plate

next I taped off half the mani, diagonally, and used Slick Slate again

Then for fun, I re-taped my nails, and added Essie Matte About You :)

Slick Slate, White Cap & Essie Matte About You= BFF's for life!

Another day, I just couldn't let my mani be....lol. So while at Rite Aid,  saw 2 Sally Hansen Insta-Dri's that I didn't own, and I love these for Konading, so I of course had to get them. Plus I'm a sucker for the shroom colors. Well this is Slick Slate, isn't she sooo pretty??? Now, I know there are TONS of dupes out there of this color, but I didn't have one that I could stamp with?!?! I can't wait to try it out.

Okay, well, this is where the boredom started, lol. 2 coats of Slick Slate

Then I added China Glaze White Cap over top. BTW, White Cap was the only one I had any desire to get from that colection.

Then I added Essie Matte About You. What do you think?! I am really liking this!

my little nub is trying sooo hard to blend in with the rest of the group, lol.

My "I'm ready for Paintball" Mani................Patchwork Camo

So my hubby and about 20 people spent this past weekend at our family cabin, to play paintball!! We play about 5-6 times a year. Well I wanted a mani that would hide my butt, lol. Well after a few too many tries, I finally found colors that I liked together. I did this the night before we left. You may notice in some recent manis, following this, I now have a burn going down my ring finger, %^$#@!$*&#!, well I didn't get hurt playing, but I did have to much to drink, and so did everyone else. Well, we decided that cooking hot dogs over the fire was a great idea......but it wasn't. I burned my finger on one of those pokey cooker thingys! What was my hubby's 1st response........................"How can you even stand to take pictures now?" meaning for you guys! GRRRRR

Anyways, I used Sinful Black on Black, Essie Sew Psyched & CC High Society, then topped it off with China Glaze, Matte Magic. Of course using Scotch Tape for the design :)

Here is a pic, of my hubby and I, a few trips ago. I don't have the new pics ready yet. Oh, and yep...my gun is pink! WOOP WOOP!

Essie Batch

  • Smokin' Hot - Break the rules with this stone-cold fox gray that burns hotter than any flame.
  • Masquerade Belle - Fascinating, mysterious and seductive, this black ruby sparks the imagination and inspires intense devotion.
  • Silken Cord - You've got the world on a string with this stunning risqué red wrapped around your fingers.
  • Hot Coco - Paint on this tawny sepia and channel the roaring '20s for a look that's timelessly flawless.
  • Luxedo - Suit up in this deepest plum and boldly go where no man has gone before.
  • Going Incognito - Your identity may be secret, but your style and panache are impossible to conceal with this deep emerald green.
Which are your favorites? Or which ones are you looking forward to?

Today I will have a few swatches from Essie, including the Winter 2010 Collection's Going Incognito. :)

Essie Going Incognito
a foresty emerald green creme. The swatch is 2 coats and 1 coat of top coat. I love this green! The formula and application was excellent. The color is really nice too! :)

Essie Sew Psyched
According to Essie it is a cashmere-soft sage pewter. It's more like a dusty deeper jade creme with a small shimmer. The swatch is 2 coats and 1 coat of top coat. Awesome color! Formula and application is really good. :)

Essie Wild Thing
red fushia base with slight glitter. The swatch is 2 coats and 1 coat of top coat. The color is very chic. Excellent formula and application.

Essie Jackie Oh My
a pale off white with shimmer. The swatch is 4 coats and 1 coat of top coat. The formula was a bit opaque but the application was great. :)

The next one has a unique story to it. My bf went to go to his usual nail salon to do his eyebrows. As I waited for him today, I looked at their shelf of nail polishes and found this beauty. When I looked for the name it said FX Flash! I was thinking to myself, omgomgomgomg! and I was wondering if they would be willing to sell it to me but I didn't think they would. So I showed my bf after he was done. I told him outside that I was wondering if they would sell it to me but didn't have the guts to ask, so he went inside and asked. The lady said that she normally wouldn't sell it but since I really wanted it she said she would sell it to me. My bf showed her which one and she was willing to take $3 for it. It was about 80% full but that didn't matter. So here's the bottle picture with and without flash. Then the swatch pictures without flash and with flash.

The swatch is 2 coats and 1 coat of top coat. It's a purple/blue glittery polish. As I google-d for swatches, the bottle and the swatch looked different from what I have. From what I know, I know that there's a blue and green version. So maybe it's a bad bottle? IDK! But it still looks GREATTT! :)

have you fulfilled any lemmings lately?
hope you enjoyed my post about lemmings killed,

Purple

Today is the day to wear purple in memory of the recent suicides due to gay abuse. Since my nails are nubbins and I'm trying to grow them, I did swatches on plastic nails. Also, I have work, which doesn't allow me to have my nails painted. These are my favorites and I'm also introducing another new polish to my collection, but you probably have seen it one too many times already!

Essie Splash of Grenadine - pink purple jelly creme. 2 coats and 1 coat of top coat
OPI Show It and Glow It - purple, silver and blue glitter. 3 coats and 1 coat of top coat

Something Sweet

Hello there! :) I'm posting my current manicure/nails! I received this nail polish in a swap and ever sine I got it, I've been wanting to try this!

China Glaze Something Sweet
it's a pastel light pink with hints of lavender and a slight hint of gray because it isn't as bright as Wet N Wild's Tickled Pink although it seems very similar (I'll be doing a side by side comparison soon for these two cute pinks). I started off my manicure with base coat, 2 coats of Something Sweet and 1 coat of Seche top coat on my pinkie, middle fingers and my thumb. (*Note: the pictures of the manicure isn't as accurate. The closest to the actual color is the pictures of my manicure+nail art. My camera's wonky on certain colors x___x & notetoself:savemoneyandbuynewcameraandmakelightbox)

To add a little "nail art" to my manicure, I decided to do simple white stripes. I used Kiss Nail Art in White for the stripes, although they aren't perfectly straight, they look amazingly cute! I finally topped it off with Essie's Matte About You on my ring and index fingers. :) How cute is that? It reminds me of those round peppermint mints that are red and mainly white. :P

hope you enjoyed,
